TreeEdit User Guide

An editor that takes the thoughts scattered in your head, lays them out in the shape of a tree, and helps you organize them.
Just create folders and files and drag them into place; anything that does not have a home yet can be set aside for a while in the Holding Area.

🚀 Getting Started

Step	What to do
1	Launch the program. An empty tree view opens.
2	Click New Folder on the toolbar to create a main branch.
3	Select a folder and click New File; the file is attached beneath it.
4	When everything is in place, click Save.

You can use it right away without logging in.
You only need to log in to check your purchases and subscription.

🖥️ Screen Layout

Area	What it does
Top toolbar	New Folder · New File · Delete · Search · Holding Area · Size Settings · Reset
Center tree view	Everything you create is arranged here in the shape of a tree. Drag items to rearrange them.
Right-side Holding Area	A place to temporarily set aside items that do not have a home yet.
Bottom status bar	Shows the name of the currently open file and your most recent action.

Open and close the Holding Area with Hide / Show Holding Area on the toolbar.
Collapsing it on a narrow screen gives the tree view more room.

🌳 Basic Usage

Create

• New Folder — Creates a branch. It can hold other folders and files.
• New File — A leaf that holds your actual content.
• If an item is selected, the new one is attached beneath it; if nothing is selected, it is added at the top.

Moving

Drag and drop an item to move it. While you drag, the drop position is shown.

Where you drop it	What happens
On a folder	It becomes a child of that folder
Between two items	It is inserted between them
On empty space	It becomes a top-level branch
Holding Area	It leaves the tree and is kept aside temporarily

Options when you click an item

Action	Description
Rename	Changes the name. You can include an extension such as .md.
New Subfolder / New Subfile	Creates one directly beneath that item.
Duplicate	Creates an identical copy, including everything beneath it.
Move to Holding Area	Removes it from the tree and places it in the Holding Area.
Expand / Collapse	Hides or shows everything beneath it.
Delete	Deletes it, along with everything beneath it.

📦 The Holding Area — the Heart of This Program

As you organize, you will always run into something that makes you think, “I don’t know where this belongs yet.”
When that happens, do not delete it; set it aside in the Holding Area instead.

1. Drag the item into the Holding Area.
2. Finish organizing the tree.
3. Once its place is decided, drag it back into the tree.

There is also Reset Holding Area, which empties only the Holding Area. The tree stays as it is.

🔍 Search

Type a name into Search on the toolbar to jump straight to that item.
Part of the name is enough, and the search is not case-sensitive.

📐 Adjusting the Look

You can change how the tree looks in Size / Spacing Settings.

Value	What it changes
Cell Width · Cell Height	The size of a single item
Vertical gap	The gap between items above and below
Indent	How far a child is inset from its parent
Folder Scale · File Scale	Adjusts the size of folders and files separately
Files below folders	Groups files after folders in the display

Click Default to return to the initial settings.

💾 Saving and Loading

Menu	What it does
Open	Loads a saved tree.
Save	Saves the current tree as it is.
Save As · Export	Saves under a new name, or exports to another format.

There are two export formats.

• Tree_Structure.md — Comes out as human-readable text you can paste straight into a document.
• JSON — A data format other programs can read.

♻️ Three Kinds of Reset

They are kept separate because they are easy to mix up.

Full Reset cannot be undone. Save before you click it.

👤 Account and License

Menu	Description
Sign In	Shows your purchase and subscription details.
My Info	Shows the access level you are currently using.
License	Shows your status: Available / Subscribed / Restricted.
Check for updates	Checks whether a new version is available.

The file you receive depends on where you purchased (our website · Google Play).
If you pay on one platform, you can use the same account on the other platforms as well.

🌐 Language

You can change it under Language in the menu. The change is applied to the screen immediately.

❓ Troubleshooting

Problem	Solution
An item landed in the wrong place	Just drag it into place again. Before dropping, check the position shown on screen.
I deleted something by mistake	If you have not saved yet, simply Open the file again to return to the last saved state.
The tree is too large to see at once	Collapse folders, or reduce the cell size in the size settings.
The Holding Area is not visible	Click Show Holding Area on the toolbar.
Ads are appearing	If you purchase Remove Ads, they will no longer appear.
